Do I Create My Own Reality?

Great question! The answer is, yes and no ;)

Yes, you create your reality, but not exclusively. Did you create the computer you’re looking at right now? Did you build your house with your bare hands? Did you grow all the food you ate so far today? Did you use a stick to clean your teeth, or a plastic toothbrush from the store? All these really cool creations that make life so much easier are possible because everyone is creating at the same time. We are living in both the world of our creations and the world of everyone else’s. This is because we are all one. Each of us has a mind that is a direct link to universal mind / God, projecting itself into a physical reality.

When I first started learning about the law of attraction ten years ago, I thought it was so empowering that all the experts said I, alone, am the creator of my reality.

As I mentioned in the first post in this series, The Law of Attraction is a Lie, I tried really, really hard to attract the things I wanted. And it worked...some of the time.

If attraction is really a law, shouldn't it always work? I wanted to figure it out, so I figured I might have better luck if I could channel a wise otherworldly being like Esther Hicks did with Abraham. I spent months meditating and creating that I was able to channel. And you know what? It worked! My book One Truth, One Law is the result of this experiment. Yes, you create your reality, but so does everyone else. Your consciousness is part of one universal mind. Your individuality is an illusion.

This is the exact reason why you can easily create some things, but others are hard. And no, creating those things is not hard because you aren't vibrating enough positivity! They’re hard because other people are creating contradictory things with more knowing than you.

Have You Ever Used the Law Of Attraction to Create an Amazing Parking Space?

The parking space example is often used to first get you hooked into the law of attraction, because it works! It works time and time again because when you're planning on going shopping or driving in your car, visualizing and creating with all your might that glorious, empty space right in front of the store, no one else is thinking about it. There are no competing thoughts creating anything different. We are all one mind, and because no one else cares about that parking space at that time, the universe easily, effortlessly projects exactly what you are creating. When you arrive at the store...bam! A perfectly empty parking space awaits you right at the front of the store.

What happens when you want to attract something involving other people’s thoughts?

I know you were pumped after you attracted that parking space. I sure was. But I quickly learned it wasn’t so easy for most things. And I learned from I Am it had nothing to do with my emotions. It was because when I tried to visualize and attract money, a car or a house, there were a bunch of other people creating with their minds that I didn’t have those things. My family, friends, and anyone in the financial industry were creating that I didn’t have enough money for those things. And my knowing was not enough to overcome theirs.

No, you are not the only creator of your reality. However, there is absolutely a way to create all those things you want in your life. But it’s not attraction. It’s creation.
